Looking is very different to fitting. When looking for your dream gown, it can be overwhelming and take time. We like you to enjoy the experience. Try on styles you like and gowns that you may not have thought about , you never know what you may end up liking.

To order the dress you really want can take four to six months. We also find most gowns need alterations be it your hemline, bodice, shoulders or whatever little tweak maybe needed for the best fit possible.

Keeping this in mind, we recommend ordering about 6 months in advance and start looking as soon as possible.

We highly recommend that you make an appointment, as this allows you to try on gowns and see what you like in style and fabrics and discover what suits your body shape.

We usually allow 1 hour for an appointment.  For your convenience, our studio is open Monday 10am-late, Tuesday – Friday 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm.

There is street parking with no parking metres.

Please arrive on time as chances are the next group will follow straight after you and we would hate to have to cut your appointment short.

Our stunning gown will capture your elegance and grace. All our designers use beautiful high quality fabrics, with exquisite trims and beading for that finishing touch. When you have made your selection a gown can take 4-5 months to compete, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time.

If you have limited time and depending on the design chosen, some gowns may be available sooner.

Include our range of After Five, Flower girl and Junior Bridesmaid gowns sizes from 2 up to 30 and the wonderful colours; we will have the right gown for your occasion.

Our jewellery collection is affordable and elegant, we can even have pieces custom made if you have a special design. We stock Windsor Jewellery We have a great range of veils and head pieces, these can be made to suit your individual length and style of trim.

When it is time for your gown to be fitted or altered, please bring any undergarments, including Body sculpting undergarments that you wish to wear. We want your gown to be fitted to the best shape possible. We recommend that you have neutral colour undergarments and where possible, knickers require to go to the waist to give you a smooth silhouette
Also, remember you shoes. Shoes should not have any sharp embellishments, which could catch on the hem and tear your gown.

Depending on the alterations required to your gown, you will need two to three actual fittings, to ensure the highest possible standard of fit.

The final fitting is usually done closer to the wedding date to allow for any changes in body shape.
During this time, you may like to have a trial run of your hair and make-up so that you can see the final look for your big day.

Yes. We offer an in-house alteration service for all bridal gowns, special occasion and After 5 wear that has been purchased from Bernice Fashions or elsewhere.

Yes. Bernice Fashions delivers throughout Australia. Some brides pop into the studio for fittings when visiting family or friends. Or they purchase a gown and we happily send the gown onto them. All we request is the cost of postage.

We welcome Brides and friends with their little ones into our studio. However, we do ask that no food or drink be consumed whilst in the studio. Children are precious and so too are our gowns and the gowns that we may altering.

We have toys and books for children to play with. Prams are welcome, although space is restricted.
